The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute will host a conference on the AHRI Low-GWP Alternative Refrigerants Evaluation Program January 16, 2014, in New York City. The single-day conference will take place at the New York Hilton Midtown, one day before the ASHRAE Winter Conference, which will take place at the same hotel. Registration is available at www.ahrinet.org.

The purpose of the Low-GWP AREP program is to identify and evaluate promising alternative refrigerants for major product categories, including air conditioners, heat pumps, chillers, ice makers, and refrigeration equipment. Final test results will be presented at the conference.

“This conference will provide AREP contributors with an excellent opportunity to share the results of their research, and raise awareness about the work members of the HVACR and water heating industry are conducting to foster environmental stewardship,” said AHRI President and CEO Stephen Yurek. “We encourage those interested to join us and learn more about this groundbreaking program and the impact it will have on our industry and the citizens of the world.”
