Ziehl-Abegg received two Plus X Awards in the Best Product of the Year category. The awards were for the ventilation systems and automotive sectors. Ziehl-Abegg also received 11 seals of product quality from the Plus X Awards.
The Plus X Awards aims to honor manufacturers for their innovation and quality of products. This year, 130 independent judges made the award decisions.
The Cpro and ZAplus fans were both honored in the ventilation category.
The design of Ziehl-Abegg's Cpro fan resembles the shape of a water drop. As a result, the company says it runs quieter and uses less energy than conventional products. It is the new ZAmid material, with material properties similar to steel, that makes a rotational speed of 70 meters per second possible. The impeller is used in high-precision air conditioning units, ventilation and air extraction, in cooling systems, air handling units, and clean room technology. The fan is completely corrosion-free, 100% recyclable, and consumes 15% less power in operation than steel impellers.
The ZAplus is a fan system designed with efficiency, flexibility, and easy handling. Company officials said the quiet flight of the owl inspired the Ziehl-Abegg engineers in their design of the fan blade. Improvements in efficiency and noise level were the result. Several technical modifications and a totally new kind of compact unit brought other improvements in energy consumption, flow behaviour, noise level, and handling. ZAplus is a bionic axial fan in a compact unit made of high-strength composite material into which the motor and control are integrated and on which a diffuser can be mounted. This way, the system achieves an energy saving of 20%
