Organizers of the ISH Shanghai & CIHE – Shanghai International Trade Fair are touting the success of the 2014 show. Held Sept. 3-5 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, the fair welcomed 13,708 visitors, a 35% attendee increase over 2013.
The 2014 edition was held in conjunction with Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology Fair, Building Solar China Conference and Exhibition, and the inaugural edition of Shanghai International Lighting Fair. Better known as the “Intelligent Green Building - IGB” exhibition platform, the four collective events welcomed over 40,000 visitors and more than 600 exhibitors.
“I am pleased with the overall participation figures for exhibitors and visitors this year,” said Richard Li, general manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai), organizers of the event. “The increasing participation rate confirmed the importance of this show and China’s rise as the next great HVAC market. From my interaction with exhibitors and visitors, the 2014 show has served as a great tool in growing their businesses and making key industry contacts.”
Li Hongbo, general manager at Beijing B & D Exhibition Co. Ltd. added: “The market demand for HVAC technology in East and Central China continues to grow. Through incorporating interactive concurrent events at the fair, we have positioned ISH Shanghai & CIHE as the regional destination for all HVAC and building technology-related professionals to promote knowledge exchange among industry experts.”
Exhibitors at ISH Shanghai & CIHE were pleased with the show for its ability to connect them with their target audience. Whether they were selling heat pumps, floor-heating products or their other latest individual heating solutions, the fair gave exhibitors the chance to promote their brands, as well as educate customers on their unique benefits.
Yang Kun, general manager of Guangzhou Devotion Domestic Boilers Manufacturing Co. Ltd. said: “We have been participating at ISH Shanghai & CIHE since its inaugural launch in 2012 and have witnessed a significant advancement of the show. This year, we met a large number of targeted customers, mainly distributors. I believe that East and Central China region will have the fastest growth rate in China’s home heating market and individual heating will be the best solution in this region in the foreseeable future.”
This year marked the second year of the European Pavilion to ISH Shanghai & CIHE. The pavilion highlighted some of the best technologies currently available from the continent. Visitors were able to see a comprehensive offering of HVAC technologies and products displayed by the international and domestic leading brands.
“China is an important market for Turkish companies,” said Zeki Poyraz, chairman of Turkish HVAC-R Industry Exporters’ Union. “With increased focuses on urbanization and better concepts on standards of living, people in the region are gearing towards quality and reliable products that match with the European standard. The Shanghai show is an important platform for exhibitors to gain access into the Chinese market and I am very impressed with what I saw here at the show.”
Over the course of the three-day exhibition, a series of seminars and forums were also held on emerging technologies and solutions in HVAC development. One of the highlighted concurrent events was the inaugural Shanghai International HVAC Forum. Co-organized by the Association of the European Heating Industry – Dept 12, the Association of the Floor-heating Committee of China Construction Metal Structure Association, and the HVAC&R Sub-council of China Architectural Society, industry experts and scholars were invited to share their views on market trends and the latest industry news.
Forum speaker, Liu Chen, representative of the Association of the European Heating Industry, and general manager of sales and marketing in China for Uponor Trading, said: “The Shanghai International HVAC Forum was well organized and the response from the audience was great. The forum served as perfect channel to exchange industry information and share heating knowledge. The topics covered in the forum helped raise awareness for more efficient and energy-saving HVAC products. Additionally, I noticed an increasing demand for quality HVAC products in the East and Central China regions; this will without a doubt provide ample business opportunities for European and North American suppliers who are looking to tap the Chinese market.”
