Architecture and engineering firm LEO A DALY has hired Lance Kempf, P.E., as director of mechanical and electrical engineering for its Minneapolis office. In this role, Kempf will manage and mentor teams on a wide range of educational, institutional, government, corporate, manufacturing/distribution, science, and technology projects.
The company says Kempf is an expert in managing complex engineering projects, known for his collaborative approach with owners, construction managers, contractors, code officials, and commissioning agents.
He joins LEO A DALY from LKPB Engineers, Inc., where he was responsible for all aspects of project engineering and construction management on large commercial and educational facilities. As a senior engineer for HGA Architects and Engineers in Minneapolis he managed teams on projects ranging from the Walker Art Center expansion and remodel to an African penguin habitat and associated life support systems for the Minnesota Zoo.
“Lance is a highly respected engineer with outstanding communication skills and a strong desire to lead and mentor,” said Matthew Johnson, managing principal of LEO A DALY in Minneapolis. “With 24 years of experience in both large A&E firms and consulting, he understands the functional, aesthetic, and interpersonal sides of successful project delivery. As the leader of our engineering practice, he will provide an immediate benefit to both our design teams and our clients.”
“I’m excited to be joining such a highly respected architecture and engineering firm with such a long history of success and innovation. I work tirelessly to exceed my clients’ aesthetic and functional standards, a passion I’m glad to know is shared by my new colleagues at LEO A DALY.” said Kempf.
