The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) commended the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee for its vote to favorably report the nomination of Dan Brouillette to be Deputy Secretary of Energy.
"Mr. Brouillette's experience as a former state energy regulator, as the former Chief of Staff of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and as a former DOE Assistant Secretary of Energy for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs, clearly demonstrates his deep understanding of the energy sector," said AHRI President and CEO Stephen Yurek. "Many of the products and equipment manufactured by our member companies are regulated by DOE under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA), and it is critical that the DOE leadership understand the importance of ensuring that the regulatory process operates fairly and consistently for all stakeholders. Mr. Brouillette clearly understands that importance and will be a clear asset to the Secretary of Energy and the agency as a whole in their important work" he added.
AHRI says it strongly supports Brouillette's nomination and is urging his swift confirmation by the full Senate.
