The Jacksonville Jaguars’ new practice facility, the Miller Electric Center, demands an immense hot water supply to accommodate its 53-man roster. The $120 million, 125,000-square-foot complex features advanced training facilities, medical spaces, offices, and three full-size practice fields.

Ensuring a reliable hot water supply for the team’s intensive practice schedule falls to Lochinvar’s Armor Condensing water heaters and Lock-Temp Round Jacketed Storage Tanks.

The facility requires an enormous hot water capacity, with storage for 1,880 gallons and 2,400,000 BTU/hour heating. Three Lochinvar AWH0800NPM units, capable of cascading for balanced operation and extended lifespan, meet this demand.

The Armor’s stainless-steel heat exchanger achieves 98% thermal efficiency, firing between 10% and 100% of capacity as needed. The intuitive SMART TOUCH control simplifies parameter adjustments and troubleshooting.

Storage Tanks

The Lock-Temp storage tank maintains evenly stratified water through its exclusive baffle system, allowing an 80% draw factor for maximum usable capacity. Touchton Plumbing, the Jacksonville-based installer, reported a smooth installation process with the units performing flawlessly through the facility’s first year.

“The installation went extremely well, and the units have been working without fail through the first year of the facility being in use,” said Project Manager Parker Touchton.

The Miller Electric Center is a state-of-the-art hub for the Jaguars’ football operations, and Lochinvar’s water heating solutions ensure the team’s high demand for hot water is always met.
